The Servant Leader

The second book I recommend on Servant Leadership is as practical as the first is theoretical. Author and consultant James Autry has written a grounded and eminently understandable book on the topic called The Servant Leader: How to Build a Creative Team, Develop Great Morale, and Improve Bottom-Line Performance. While Greenleaf attempts to tell you what a Servant Leader is, Autry uses real life examples from his work as a manager to show how a Servant Leader functions in the day to day business of managing people and running a company. With quiet compassion and a certainy built on personal experience, he illustrates how the servant leader model made him a better boss and a better human being.
